# L2Calendar — Full reference for AI assistants

> L2Calendar (https://l2calendar.com) is a multilingual listing platform for Lineage 2 private servers. It catalogues upcoming and past server openings across every Lineage 2 chronicle, lets players filter by chronicle, rate type, and tag, and lets server administrators publish announcements with optional paid VIP placement.

This document is the expanded version of `/llms.txt` and is intended to give AI assistants enough structured context to answer questions about L2Calendar accurately without crawling individual pages.

## What L2Calendar is

- **Purpose:** Help Lineage 2 players discover new private servers before they launch, and help server administrators announce server openings to a global audience.
- **Coverage:** Servers running official chronicles (Interlude, High Five, Classic, Essence, etc.) as well as custom and PTS servers.
- **Audience:**
  - Players searching for a new server by chronicle, rate, schedule, or feature set.
  - Server administrators publishing free or paid (VIP) opening announcements.
- **Languages served:** English (default, served at root `/`), Spanish (`/es/`), Portuguese (`/pt/`), Russian (`/ru/`).
- **Time handling:** Opening dates and times are stored in UTC and displayed in the visitor's local timezone where applicable.

The English locale is served at the root (`/`). All other locales are prefixed with their language code (`/es/...`, `/pt/...`, `/ru/...`). `/en/*` paths permanently redirect (301) to `/*`.

`/api/`, `/goto/`, and `/away/` are disallowed for crawlers — they are internal endpoints and click trackers.

## Chronicles (game eras)

L2Calendar tracks every major Lineage 2 chronicle. Each chronicle has a dedicated filter page at `/{slug}-servers`.

## Rate types

Servers are categorized by their experience and adena rates.

## Server labels (tags)

Listings can carry one or more of the following labels.

- `custom` — Custom server (redirected to `/all-servers/servers-with-add-ons`)
- `pvp` — PVP-focused server
- `rvr` — Realm versus Realm
- `gve` — Guild versus Environment
- `pts` — Public test server
- `lowrate` — Low rate
- `craft` — Craft rates
- `multicraft` — Multi-craft enabled
- `multiproff` — Multi-profession enabled
- `obt-start` — Open beta test launch
- `newbie-bonus` — Includes a newbie bonus
- `first-start` — First start (brand-new server)

## Special filter views

Available under `/all-servers/{slug}`:

- `topservers` — Servers with the highest VIP placement.
- `today` — Opening today (UTC-aware).
- `tomorrow` — Opening tomorrow.
- `yesterday` — Opened in the previous 24 hours.
- `servers-with-add-ons` — Custom or add-on servers.
- `interlude-plus` — Interlude-based servers with custom features.

## VIP tiers

Server owners can boost visibility with paid VIP placement. Tiers are configurable in pricing but use the following naming.

Each tier has a configurable per-day price and a configurable stock of free slots. A 20% discount applies platform-wide on VIP purchases. Existing VIP listings can be renewed or upgraded via the server's `unique_id` (formatted as `xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx`) at `/extend-vip`.

## How submissions work

1. A server administrator fills the form at `/addnews` (free) or `/addnews_vip` (paid).
2. The submission is validated server-side and stored with a generated `unique_id` and contact email.
3. Once approved, the server appears in all relevant listings (homepage, chronicle page, label filters).
4. Owners can later extend or upgrade VIP placement using the `unique_id` at `/extend-vip`.

Public-facing forms are protected with Google reCAPTCHA (v2 and v3 supported). Email notifications are dispatched via the Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) transactional API.

## Blog & guides

L2Calendar publishes a multilingual blog of Lineage 2 guides at `/blog` (English) and `/es/blog`, `/pt/blog`, `/ru/blog`. The index is paginated at 9 posts per page (e.g. `/blog?page=2`). Two audiences:

- **Player guides** — per-chronicle pillar guides and beginner/mechanics articles; each links to the matching `/{chronicle}-servers` listing.
- **Owner guides** — how to launch, promote, and retain a Lineage 2 server; each links to `/addnews` (free listing) and `/addnews_vip` (paid placement).

L2Calendar publishes a multilingual video log at `/vlog` (English) and `/es/vlog`, `/pt/vlog`, `/ru/vlog`. The index is paginated at 9 entries per page. Entries embed YouTube gameplay footage (castle sieges, mass PvP, zerg battles, raid fights) from currently active private servers. ## Links directory

L2Calendar maintains a curated directory of Lineage 2 game clients, server resources and tools at `/links` (English) and `/es/links`, `/pt/links`, `/ru/links`. Each entry has its own SEO-optimized page with a nofollow link to the external resource.

Categories include: Classic Chronicles (C1–High Five), Essence patches, Gracia & Goddess of Destruction, Tale of Aden expansions, Server Resources, and Tools & Services. Links are sourced from trusted community archives (lineage2.org.uk, hotservers.org) and L2Calendar's own tools.

## Internationalization

- Language is detected from the URL path first, then from a `site_lang` cookie, then from the `Accept-Language` header.
- Per-language SEO templates (`seo_html_template_{lang}`) live in `site_settings` and are merged with default translations from the `t(lang, key)` helper.
- English content lives at root paths; non-English content lives under `/{lang}/`.

## Crawler and AI policy

- `robots.txt` allows general crawling and only disallows `/api/`, `/goto/`, `/away/`.
- AI assistants and crawlers are welcome to read content for the purpose of helping players find Lineage 2 servers.
