Lineage 2 Server Launch Checklist: What to Do Before Day One

A lineage 2 server launch checklist is what separates a smooth day one from a panic where you're fixing the login server while two hundred players ask what's wrong. Most launch failures are not mysteries — they're things that should have been checked the night before. Here's the list, in the order that matters.
Finalize files, rates, and content first
Everything a player experiences in their first hour has to be locked before you advertise a launch date. Once players are on the server, changing rates or wiping feels like betrayal.
- Confirm your pack and files are the final build, not a test copy.
- Lock rates — XP, SP, adena, drop, spoil — at the values you'll advertise.
- Set the level cap and any custom content before anyone levels past them.
- Verify the newbie buff, class change quests, and starting zone spawns work.

Set up infrastructure that won't die
The most common launch-day killer is a server that falls over under its own opening crowd. Check the boring parts first.
- Confirm the VPS has enough CPU and RAM for your expected launch spike.
- Schedule automatic backups before you open, not after players have data.
- Enable your anti-bot protection and confirm it doesn't block real players.
- Test a full restart: both login and game server must come back clean.
Prep Discord and the community
Your Discord is where launch players will land before they even make a character. Have it ready.
- Create the channels: announcements, general, support, and a rules channel.
- Post the launch date, rates, and wipe policy in a pinned announcement.
- Set up a ticket or support flow so bug reports don't drown general chat.
- Brief your GMs on what to do in the first hour.

Get listed before launch day
Do this before you open, not after. Top lists approve listings and players browse them before a launch, so an approved listing on the right day is how you get a starting population at all.
A server nobody can find on launch day might as well not have launched.
List your server on L2Calendar ahead of time so it's approved and visible when the date arrives, and use a VIP placement to hold the top of the list through launch week. This is the distribution step that turns your finished server into an actual player count.
The final hour before launch
Work through a short last pass and resist the urge to change anything after it.
- Restart login and game server fresh, then confirm both are up.
- Log in as a normal player and complete a full character creation and first quest.
- Confirm the Discord invite link still works from the server's website.
- Keep one GM in Discord announcements and one in-game for the first hour.
If all of that is done, launch day is just watching the count go up — and fixing the things you could not have predicted. That's the job. The checklist just makes sure the predictable problems are already gone.
